Default Fan problem

I put my car back together this weekend and after its been running for a while. My fan won't work normally. I disconnected the plug on the thermostat housing and jumped it with a piece of wire and it comes on fine.. What can I check?

i have changed the thermostat switch, the thermostat, thermostat housing, coolant fan fuses, coolant fan relay. and still am not gettin anything! my thermostat is not opening my waterpump has under 1000miles on it! but my block was sitting head less for over a year but do you think a lil clog would stop all the flow? and keep the thermostat from opening?
