90-91 Civic EX knuckles with DC calipers on a CRX. Axle prob..
Here we go again. I just had issues with breaking some axles with DC knuckles and ebay engine mounts. This is in a 88 CRX Si with a B18A1 swap.
I recently changed over to the Civic EX knuckles and kept the DC knuckles. Everything bolted up nicely. Then I swapped the old engine mounts for brand new Innovative mounts. When I lowered the car I noticed that the axles are wayy to close to the strut forks. I moved the car from one house to another, about 15 miles. And I think the axles do touch the forks at some point.
Now the car is being stripped to make it lighter and maybe do a small wire tuck... New engine and tranny.. BUT I also need to address this issue. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else can post pics of their set up?
here is a link to all the pics

i had a simular problem after a b swap with the old place racing mounts. i ended up using shock forks from the EF SIR. the shock fork has more of a bend in the side that is rubbing on your set up. but still allows you the use the EF shocks. Search for some pics and info on the EF8/9 shock forks and you'll see what i mean.
Yeah,
Search function on this site is down, and still sucks.. So unfortunately I cant search.. But I will look into the SIR forks..

The bushings for the lower part of the fork LOOK old replace those then see how close the axle is,They look cracked the weight of the motor might push it forward or back...
i bought some EG coilovers from someone once who had them on an EF with a b series and the shock forks(EG) were ground down to prevent rubbing, but it didn't seem safe and i dont recomend it.

still need help..
Bushings still would not push the fork that close to the axle... Axle has to be in the middle

just a shot in the dark, but are you sure those are the correct shock forks for the car? im not certain about how modular that part is between different chassis, but its worth a shot...
Original forks.
Anyone that has done this swap? Tried google, everyone talks about doing it, but noone gets it done..

use 90-93 integra forks. They fit the stock shocks and have a larger hump. You can even change the axle with the da forks still on. It's large enough to fit through. It will give much more clearance.
