LS/Vtec Build
What's up guys, learning a lot from this site about b series builds and I've a few questions and need advice in giving me the best possible set up with my budget. I currently have a stock LS/Vtec motor, rebuilt this past May 08. Car has been in storage since Nov 08 and planning to take her out April. My motor has a b16 tranny and is basically fresh but stock. (Didn't have the many to build the internals when all this was being done sadly.) I have been thinking over winter about what I should do with the motor, NA, Supercharge or Turbo.. I have decided im going go NA because I spent a lot of money already to build this motor so it is extremely reliable. It is a b18 bottom end and a 1st gen jdm b16 head with a valve job. I am picking up P30 pistons with pr3 rings, rods, bearings all fresh for my block. I supose im going to be running around 10.4 CP. Now that being said, I ask for your input on what I should run in the head (cams, gears, retainers, valves, springs etc.) I have a 2.25 Magnaflow exhaust setup (no cat) with a jdm ITR header currently. I plan on changing my header which I also ask which you would recommend for this set-up? Finally, I will be gathering bolt-ons such as Intake manifold, throtle body and intake system (please add any other bolt-ons that helped in your experience. I would like to make the most power reliably out of this motor, I have gathered my suspension parts, bars, brakes etc, so I just have this motor build left to do. Just incase your wondering, its a 2000 Integra.
Thanks for your help guys!

The KiddRacing RMF narrow replica header looks like a great header for the price. Look here

I am also doing a LS-Vtec build and I currently have a Type R head sitting on a b18a block. I replaced the LS crank for a GSR crank (shorter stroke), gave me more RPM's up top with Brian Crower Rods and Type R pistons. When I bought the motor it didn't have any cams, so I opted to go with stock type r cams and using Skunk2Pro Series cam gears. I am currently using the Buddy Club b series header and their Spec 2 exhaust, which sounds Wicked, if I may say so myself. JG Edlebrock intake manifold seems to make great power I have heard (not ordered mine yet). Good luck with the rest of the build and try to get some pics up.
You have also just made you LSV into a GSR with no oil squirters on the cylinders.... The LS crank and rods is what make a LSV a LSV.... You want the stroke to create the low end torque man. I know about the Rod/stroke ratio but there is nothing to worrie about if you get ARP bolts.
Why are people buying LS block and crank to use a GSR crank??? cheaper version of GSR maybe?
My 2 cents
