Default leaking oil on tranny side from the HG

So I recently had my head resurfaced on my b18c1 due to it leaking oil on the from around the headgasket right above the engine block code and I get my car back and now it's still leaking oil from the same place... what can be done to correct this problem?

Also I have arp headstuds and a 5 layer headgasket due to the head being unknowingly decked by the previous owner

1. Have you checked around the VTEC solenoid for leaks?

2. Do you know if the motor has ever overheated, since it was decked & under previous ownership?

Yea and nothing was wrong i've replaced all the gaskets and seals.. The oil is coming from under the HG .. I do not know if it overheated on them but it started overheating the other day b/c my radiator cap went bad but i replaced it and no problems since

It could be a possible culprit depending on how bad/how long it overheated for.

Well you say the "head" was unknowingly decked by the previous owner and you also had it resurfaced, but has the block been decked?

Heres this,

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ead+oil+gasket

and if you search "oil leak head gasket" or just "oil leak" you'll find more.

Now I didnt mention this before, but I think I have that same leak as you've described (above/around the HG & blockcode stamp). Turns out this is a pretty common leak.Mines been leaking oil in this same area for a little while now, although I knew sooner or later the leak would point to it's origin. In the mean while I've double checked

* VTEC solenoid gasket (Fine, no leaks here).
* Ex cam cap (Fine, no leaks here. All brand new)
* HG (Brand new, works like a charm. No coolant problems or colored smoke + the head was resurfaced also).

However, after taking a real-close examination of the head again (and after reading a few more post's on this type of leak, just tonight) I found it. It appears to be coming from the distributor which means its more than likely the dizzy o-ring (in my case).

Worth looking into, I got my dizzy new from Distributor King so it wasnt exactly OEM.

Finally got a minute to swap out my O-ring for the Dizzy, this is what I found

(Distributor King O-ring on the left, OEM on the right)

Havent driven it yet, but I'm pretty convinced the thickness of the O-ring (or lack of it) was to blame for this leak.
