Hmm. . .when picking out my hatch, I probably looked at around 25 different hatches. The most common problem was that many of them were beat up.

Because you are looking for a car that is around 10 years old, the body is probably going to need some work. If you have the money, just buy a hatch that has high miles with a decent body, and swap from the beginning.

I noticed that many of the hatches I looked at were leaking oil. I think it was from a bad oil pan gaske/seal. Hope that helped.

As for your question regarding the B20 swap. . .do a SEARCH, there are thousands of threads that will answer your questions!

Happy Hunting

Check the interior, it may be all busted up. Mine was (and still is) perfect today. Drive it around and check the suspension.

distributors commonly go out around 100k, check for red dust inside the dist cap.
Rusting on rear quarters just above the rear bumper seam. Thats about all I've ever looked for on the eg civic, They are an all around good car otherwise

Which year is best to get? If it matters?
Do the SI hatches come with power windows?
Id like to have a 92-95 hatch too, too hard to swap in a b-series in my crx.

Check the chasis. Check for any rust down there. Sheet metal rust on Honda is notorious, especially on rear qurter pannels. But as long as the frame is solid, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As far as engine and others go, I didn't care too much about, cause it was going to be swapped anyway.
