Icon3 z6 mini-me swap help =(

anyone get upset when you have car parts sitting around you can't put in?? yea me too. and i'm only just getting into the tuner world!

anyways, i got a mad bargin on a blown block with a z6 head. head is fine so i thought i'd look into a lil swapping. all i know that it doesn't have is the dizzy. so here's my situation:

i have a d16y6 in my ek right now. i have the z6 head, intake mani, chipped p28 and obd1-obd2a harness and i'm tryin to do a mini-me swap. other than the dizzy, what else do i need????? and where can i find a dizzy for the swap?????

also, are there any write ups on performing this swap?? i've been searching the forums and can't find anything

i live in olympia, wa, and if anyone's in the area, i wouldn't mind buying them a beer or two for a helping hand!! please help this noob!!!

Well, there may be 0DB2 to 0DB1 harnesses for your stock dizzy.

You will have to replace:
-head gasket
-Timing belt
-some oil and coolant

You may want to replace:
-Intake manifold gasket
-waterpump
-head bolts
-valve cover gasket
-dizzy o-ring

that's just off the top of my head...

Z6 or even a Y8 head gasket. You also need to use a combo of 9 head studs for the Y7 and 1 for the Z6. That 1 Z6 head stud goes by the VTEC solenoid.

Yup, it's true. The Y7 head stud in that hole would be too short to work.

damn, good to know

i guess i've never heard it because most people put y8's on their y7's and z6's on their b7's.
