Default New to the honda world!!!!!

Looking for you guys for some direction. Im new to hondas, been in the VW scene for almost 10 years now, and have owned 6 vws. Got offered a deal that i couldnt refuse for the situtation im in. So i decided to trade my MK3 VRT for i guess its called an EP3. Its a 2003 si hatch. Im enjoying it so far and i was just seeing what are the popular forums to go to, what do i need to expect as far as issue with the car. noticed that its a four lug pattern. do you guys rock the four lug or buy adapters? Whats a good offset to run? I want to go low and tuck. Any info and insight would be great. All i have noticed so far is the engines in back words. Heres a pic of my old car.

One thing is if you want to run tucked and low you are going to run into a big problem with the rack and pinion... its going to start creaking and you will have to replace it sooner or later and it can be very costly... the lowest you could go is about 1.8" but that is at the limit right there! Read up alot about the suspension of the EP3... its a little different but easily made to handle like on rails!!!

Btw Welcome the biggest Honda enthusiast forum!

Also apart form ephatch.com look at clubep3.net

The engine technically is in backwards compared to most hondas and such. It makes more sense to have the intake up front where air will cool it down and the exhaust in back rather than the old style where the exhaust has to run under the engine and the intake is in back getting no fresh air flow. The engine in the 2003 Civic Si is called a K20A3 and it is a 2.0 liter DOHC motor with the I-VTEC system. It is different from the normal VTEC system you are probably used to hearing about. Look in the FAQs for more info on how it works.

You can swap over the hubs and such from an 04-05 EP3 Si to get a 5 lug but there isn't really any need to.

As for what you need to run a tucked look I have no idea. That isn't really my style.

Welcome to Hondas... They'll probably give you a little less issues than what you are used to in the VW world. Haha.

Welcome to the Honda world!! I like those wheels that you had on you VW. What are they and what are the specs? As for offset on the EP3, I currently am running a 15x8 0 offset wheel. Before these I had a 15x8 wheel with a +25 offset and those were just about perfect. Nice and flush and with a little roll in the rear there is no rubbing. That's if you're looking for a deep lip but, if you want a normal lip and a wide wheel, 9in wide is as big as you can go. I hope that helps with some future decisions on wheels. :thumbup"

Well i sold my house and moved, so i no longer have a garage. I also drive 80 miles a day between work and school. It just wasnt practical for me to drive it as a daily any more. The Ep is a better solution to my situation right now. Ill be done with school in about 6 months and will be building another VRt.

You;'ll find a whole different style in the honda world. No one knows what a wire tuck is. And there is no wheel tucking... A whole different style. Good luck trying to make a Honda as pretty as your VW was.
And JDM means Japanese Domestic Market... you'll see it a lot.
