Default Problem : How to connect a 60mm catback on a 2.5 header manifold ?

Hi,

I've quite a problem with my civic EK4.

I've a Tanabe Medaillon Touring catback (EK4) and a 4-1 Mugen 2.5 header (ITR DC2 because i've a B18C)

I thought that the catback was 2.5 because it is JDM but in fact it is not and I can't put it on the Mugen 4-1 :'(

Somebody have a solution ? Like a adapter or something like that.

Thank you.

i would have thought tanabe would have made the right application to fit that header combo. usually the header is tapered and will sit inside the flange no problem.

Where's the cat/testpipe? I would have the transition there to avoid trashing expensive aftermarket parts.

93egSLEEPER -> I thought the same way, why making a catback in 60, JDM size but not 2.5 fitment ... Plus Tanabe = JDM T_T

KillBot -> The tanabe medaillon touring catback fit directly the header, there is no need for a test pipe. I didn't know... I bought a 2.5 test pipe ... I'll sell it now T_T or cut it to take the 2.5 flange, I don't know yet...

. your exhaust looks like its for a us model ek hatch that bolts right up to the header. no big deal when i ran a ws2 i had to do the same thing, just buy the flange cut the old off and put the new on.

You guys live in US, me in France ^^ I don't think I'll find a flange, my only solution is to cut a 2.5 test pipe :/ . Muffler shop do not exist here in france :/ But I'll try to find a 2.5 flange and take it to someone like a boilermaker.

Thanks a lot

Yea either get the flange or try and have the exhaust side stretched out to fit around the gasket.

kgibson16 => :D :D Yeah people in France are not very nice in general ...
Thank a lot for the links ! But it means to cut the catback, put the flange and weld it. I have founded a good way to resolve this, I'm very luck I know ^^

I told above that I thought a test pipe was needed so I bought a 2.5 test pipe. I try to use it after cutting the begining of the catback and it perfectly goes over !!! I don't believe it !! ^^

Thanks a lot for all the information, that's a great board here oO
