K here is the low down, I wanted peoples opinion on possible engine mods, excluding turbo, and supercharges, and wont hurt the wallet too much, I got a 1999 civic DX coupe 1.6 non vtech d16y7, exterior mods i got down now just want a bit of HP gain or something that will make it a bit quicker. all idea's are welcome thanks!

there are so many threads blowing up on what people should do and they have X amount of money and they want Y amount of horse power, you want horse power? boost it there you go, you dont want boost? swap a motor, you dont want swap? intake headers exhaust

whats your budget?
and IMO the order you should work in:
TIRES
springs/shocks
sway bars if you need em
then engine if your finally satisfied with the handling =P

but if you really just want engine, and you like going in a straight line, your first mod should be an engine swap, or at least a y7-y8 head mini-me swap.

btw you are correct 6footmidget, these threads are annoying. this is a tech forum, not a Where do you think i should spend my money forum.
I don't like to encourage these threads, but sometimes we can turn them into a tech thread if the OP at least knows something about cars.

sway bars if you need em-these are already done, has a lip kit, its clean, im just wondering on bolt on, well i mean more info on the mini swap, like what i would need to get for that, i got like a G and a half to spend on it so ya, oh and it already has short ram intake, and magnaflow exhaust. But more on the mini swap??

i know the whole Y8 thing but im wondering if those items are going to be bolt ons, for example TB, Heads, ect cuz there V-tech so what other mods am i looking at, i know ECU for sure, and what kind of tune i should go for?

all you need to know right there.
if you don't want to do an engine swap, that is gonna be your best way to make more power for now.

though for 1.5g's you could probably find a b18b for cheap and swap that in. thats if you find a good deal on it of course.

even though the search is disabled, you could find your answer just browsing through a couple pages or reading the FAQ

search isn't disabled, it just doesn't work WELL. if you filter your results by relevance, you usually do alright though. and definitly read the FAQ.

just leavev it as it is.... there's no use of accelerating the speed without fast speed. andd it wont be worth it. work for the money and wait and then... swap a faster motor into it:D
