i have posted before about my b16 Xsi in my 88 si flooding so bad that it drained fuel out the intake manifold when i plugged in the pr3 i received into the harness with the vtec wiring installed (when i was trying to start it), and i eventually brought my engine to the point of hydro-lock. The car and engine actually ran just fine (of course minus vtec and im sure baout 40 hp) with the pm6 ecu plugged in. That makes me think that the ecu itself is jacked up. What happens when an ecu is fried anyway? And is it plausible that this is the sole reason why the engine flooded so bad?

 

Do you get any codes?

Code 0 means you have a bad ECU, try and get another ECU and try that. If you want temp. you can run your stock 88 Si ECU untill you get another to test out.

 

the ecu might run if it is 'half fried' on teh backup circut which uses quite rich fuel maps,

the PR3 should be running fine - if it doesnt run, i guess it has some problems...

when i first plugged in the pr3 after right after i did the vtec wiring and tried to start it, it left a solid red light from the ecu after it hydrolocked. The engine runs fine with the stock Si pm6, i just changed the oil/filter since the flooding, and the spark plugs and started it up on the pm6 and ran it around for a while. Other than i noticed it was idling pretty high, even after i tapped on the throttle to bring it down, it was still idling at 2k (i checked the throttle cable, it was fine).

the engine never ran the pr3, the engine has now been subjected to hybro-lock flooding twice now in attempts to start it up.
