What the hell?! A mysterious bolt from nowhere?
I was driving and I ran it a little hard when all of a sudden my car spits out a bolt from under the car.. ?
Here's a picture of it?
What the hell is it? I texted my frins and it happens to them too?

Yea, there is another nut that goes on that end. It's simple to put back in, put it back in and make sure the belt is tight.

lol thats crazy. i've never seen or heard of that bolt just falling out before. on my old engine i had to pound mine out with an air chisel. and that was after heating it up with an oxy-acetylene torch
just find a nut at advance or lowes that fits on the bolt and stick it back in. and no the alt will not fall out. it has the top adjustment bolt holding it in, harness plug connected to it, as well as the main power cable to the battery and starter.

Had the same thing happen to me. Alternator bearing starting making noise and when i went to replace the alternator I noticed the bolt was missing. That must have caused it.
You're lucky you found it and found it in time, paying $4 for ONE freakin bolt is gay... not to mention the cost of a new alternator.

Thanks. I notice a sound underneath my car when im driving and I started to hear it after the bolt came out. But i am not moving the car til I get this piece back in lol.
it you be a PITA to get it in from the top..Best bet is to either jack it up or take the front driver side tire off and get at it from there. The bolt goes from the middle of the motor facing out to the wheel if that makes sense? The nut then goes on last.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I found my alternator bolt 90% out on my B18C1 when changing the oil once, so apparently it happens. No idea why, I'm sure I torqued it down when I put it on with the engine out of the car.
Thanks you guys. When i swap the clutch out this weekend, I will make sure to tighten it and find the bolt that I need.
Thanks guys.
