Not starting
car: 1996 EX 4Dr
engine: f22b1
i bought a new refurbished head to put on it because the old head was warped, allowing coolant and oil to mix together (both cooling in oil and oil in coolant). the new head had all sensors on it but no distributor or cam gear. after new headgasket and new arp studs the new head was sitting snuggly. put the distributor from the old head on and yes it went on easily.
*thanks guys, you were right about the the main ground, i somehow forgot about it. grounded it and i started right up.*
***Update***
but there is a new problem the new head is making noises. its supposed to have a complete valve job. i'll pull the valve cover off tomorrow but any ideas what to look for?
here's is what it sounds like:

since u replaced the head...timing could def be off. set cyl. 1 to TDC remove valve cover and make sure the marks on the cam gear are lined up... one pointing up and the other 2 lined up with the head with timing belt removed adjust it if needed by turning cam gear which will turn cam. reinstall timing belt and valve cover...removing the spark plugs will make it easier to turn the engine over by the crank pulley bolt.
You have a couple odd sounding problems there my friend:
First off, #3, the flicker with the battery light is a common diagnostic of having bad brushes in your starter. It could also be a bad connection on your M terminal.
Next, if you have pulled the #1 plug and their is no spark than you are immediatley looking at at least a bad ignition coil. Furthermore, look at your cap and rotor very closely, look for carbon tracking on both. Just a little and your screwed!
Lastly, check your connections from your CKS to your ICM/PCM and/or your Ignition harness to your ICM/PCM. Rule of thumb--no CKS=NO START!! no matter what!
Hope some of the helps. G/L!
