broken/snapped short shifter
i've seen some post about ppl's aluminum shifters snapping or breaking?
they say its because when the exhaust piping heats up but is that w/ or w/o the heatshield on?

i've broken two short shifters and its been at the bottom of the threads where the **** screws on and a friend has done it to his too i think cause there ebay shifters that people buy cheap and just throw in there.
i have it installed it works fine just being kinda unsure if it will snap on me or not

I've had an aluminum dual-bend short shifter in my car since 2001. Never had a problem with it. Currently I'm running the stock GS-R shift **** screwed onto the handle, but most of the time I've had shift ***** that attach BELOW the shifter threads with set screws, which probably helps keep it from breaking. The shifter is quite a bit thicker below the threads.
