i just recently replaced my tranny because i thought it was the input shaft bearing that was making a grinding noise. the new one is making the same noise!! but even louder. i double checked everything and it was good except i found that the driver side axle has a lot of play where it goes into the tranny. is it normal to have play? because on the passenger side its barely wobble. helpp please...

 

the splines are probably gone.get a new axle from advance and just check it still makes the noise if it does just return the axle youll get your money back.

are you sure the axle is actually all the way in?

 

yehh its all the way in. it wobbles like as if it wasnt but im guaranteed it is. i checked on my brothers 99 civic and his axle doesnt move at all.

 

i replaced the axle earlier and it was still making the same noise!!! its not stoppping somebody help me please.. i dont want to put another tranny in there for no reason.

 

you put in any tranny fluid?

 

are you sure it's not the tie rod?
