im usually pretty good at searching but god help the search function.

lately ive noticed when i hit vtec the temp gauge drops drastically to about the first coldest mark and takes a minute to rise again. i just replaced the t-stat with an oem one last week, just wondering if anyone has ever seen the temp gauge drop like that before and what it means. i also see white smoke at high rpm pulls, which means hg. no overheating problems whatsoever, car runs great.

 

white smoke would definitely seem to lean towards a head gasket issue. have you checked your oil and coolant for signs of mixture?

 

no mixture whatsoever, both levels are stable
