Default Ek and EM1 exhaust question...

So im trying to find a badass exhaust, and want it to be pretty loud. I have a EM1 (2000 Civic SI). something to be nice with my B20 vtec motor. Ive really wanted a Buddy Club Spec II. But in the past i was told about how a Spec II wont fit on my car, and only on EKs. But sometimes people call my car an EK. But technically it is a EM1. But someone from the KTeller shop told me the 96-00 EK has the same chassis, or same under body, which means the EK's use the same exhaust path as my EM1. Does anybody else know anything about this? Would the exhaust fit right on my car?

paradox

loud exhaust = fart can = gay = not badass

i'm pretty sure all the bends are the same. not sure about the flanges. you might have to cut/turn/weld back on the flange connecting the catback to the cat.

i doubt it though, it probably fits right on. i could be wrong though.

Here is my best advice. No one wants to try this or listen to me but trust me. Get 2.5" piping custom made with a magnaflow straight through muffler as CLOSE to the cat as you can get it. The closer to the cat you can get it, the more aggressive sound you will get...

well since everyone else is just going to flame you for wanting a badass loud exhaust, ill answer your question.

the rear bumper on your EM1 is extended alot further out than a hatchback. which means a hatchback exhaust WILL NOT FIT. you MUST purchase an exhaust made for a 2 door. they do look almost identical, and as a matter of fact the B-pipe is identical, but the axle back section of the coupe is about 10 inches longer than a hatchback. so i hope i answered your question.

by the way... tell your friends who refer to your car as an Ek.. morons... cuz an EK chassis is a 99-00 civic hatchback chassis only.

meant to say that in my original post

4-door exhaust also works.

budy club spec 2 is pretty much straight pipe so i dont know how you're getting fart can from that. I love how everyone is on the bandwagon that ANYTHING that sounds like a fart can at all must be bad.

oh believe me it gets loud as hell when you get into VTEC but if your car hauls *** then whats the diff. if you're just using it for sound then GTFO. LOL! It changed my accel a lot from my old exhaust on my gsr swapped hatch although it may be a bit of overkill.

im not sure what motor is used in that hatch with that spec II, but im sure my B20vtec will sound better than that. which i didnt think it sounded that bad anyways. but in reply to that other comment, im not in it all for just sound, but i definitely dont want a fart can, especially since my car is a daily driver. i want something mean and nasty sounding, but no fart can. ;-)

well its not a fart can but it can sound like one. just depends on what total setup you have and how hard you drive it. for example this vid of a GSR or LS teg, i can't really tell.

or this spec 4 which sounds a little less fart cannish but still

EK's are 96-00 the 96-98's are EK4's and 99-00's are EK9's

Using your logic, call yourself a moron if you call ANY USDM Civic an EK then... there is no USDM EK chassis.

And yea, btw the person above me is correct. However, that doesn't apply to USDM Civics.
