does anyone keep the rubber thing on their hood?
the rubber thing on the front edge of the hood on a del sol? anyone keep them on because it looks kinda ugly not sure if it really helps with anything
My 6th gen has the hood seal too. It helps keep your engine bay clean I imagine. It definitely doesn't look ugly though.
I bet it would leave a gap if you take it out. Now that would be ugly.

I've seen quite a few Civics and del Sols with those that were warped/bent out of shape. Only way to fix it is to remove it or buy a new one.
If yours is in factory-condition, there's no reason to remove it.

My hood seal is somewhat loose in places but not enough to warrant removal.
See what the Honda and Acura Appearance/Cosmetic Forums think of the situation.

Bah reminded me of the headlight seals kinda hanging off, which I eventually cut/pulled. Now I remember I have a gap there.

The rubber is there to keep the elements out of certain area's of the engine bay. Don't remove it unless you want everything to rust away quicker.
