Don't double clutch lol, but get good and making a fast smooth shift without dropping the RPM's too low for entering your next gear. I do not know what RPM you honda people shift at, but it is usually where the little white lines turn into little red lines.

shift when the car stops making power, and just get urethane shifter bushings. keep the stock lever.

But as far as a shift pont goes, everycar is different. Yours is proly stock , so shift somewhere before redline....Its kinda a trial and error thing if the car has never been dyno'd and you dont know where it drops off at

That's because when you're doing a clean burnout through 2nd and 3rd gear you need allow the car to actually make it to the shift speed in MPH. If you spin and just shift like normal the car will bog horribly.

lol VTEC must be some sort of magical occurance for this guy. Glad we understand it's just a simple cam profile and the engine operates its power band exactly in coordination with it. Is this the same guy that was in the NSX forum causing some drama?

To the OP,

1. Get shifter bushings, keep the stock shifter like someone mentioned (unless you want another shifter).
2. Beat the hell out of it when you desire performance.
3. Be nice to the trans when you don't desire performance.
4. Replace synchros when necessary.
5. Repeat steps 2-4.

Any tips on the gsr tranny's 1-2 shift? Boosted app..

I fall out of boost bad because the rpms drop so much..

Should I induce more wheel spin in 1st and try to keep it going in 2nd? I could be way off here

I've been considering flat footing it, or enabling fts.

Thanks for your time,
dk

I have the same problem,1-2 gsr tranny,my car was droping from 9500 to 5800.
I just put a 3.07 1st gear in it so that with raising the limiter to 10,000 1-2 will be
around 6100, but still needs a littile more mid-range. more wheel spin helps LOL...

shift faster and do not lift your right foot!
keep shifting faster untill it feels like an automatic.
once you reach full-throttle in first gear, there's no need to move your right foot except for excessive wheelspin.
practice makes perfect

some nonhonda people where shocked when they found out it was stick. they said it sounded like a automatic when i raced them. feels like too
this season i'll wire in the FTS for the ecu and have new carbon coated synchro's. so it should even more easy.

just start off with 1/2 throttle shifts and gradually lift less.

how much boost is your setup making on the dyno at 5800?
what's the setup?

you shift whenever you want
if your driving slow in the city you shift low
for max speed in a honda you figure out where your rev limiter is and right that **** out everytime
