Need help.. Knock sensor problem
I built an ls vtec, all new honda bearings,
gsr pistons on ls rods with arp rod bolts
stock gsr head, cleaned by machine shop
inline pro oil line kit
gsr ecu, knock sensor hooked up
gsr intake manifold no butterflies, gsr throttle body
For the first 4k miles vtec didn't work but still drove it, my daily driver. Finally got vtec to work, found out the prob so for 500 miles everything was good, pulled strong. then about 800 miles i got code 20 and 23. 20 for the eld which was always there but never showed cel, and 23 knock sensor. i drive for about 15 min and the light pops up. i looked at my plugs and they were red where it supposed to be white. I was not running octane booster. changed plugs and put a vafc because i thought i was running lean. now i did put octane booster cause i thought i was lean. when i drive like a grandma shifting at 2.5k every gear the light doesn't turn on, when driving normal shifting around 3 to 3.5k light comes on after 15 to 20 min of driving. so i noticed driving around the city with stop and go traffic light never comes on, on the highway turns on after 15 to 20 min. of driving.
Is this a knock sensor circuit problem or am i detonating. sorry for the novel

also i have heard that the knock sensor wire could be picking up electrical interference, that there has to be a shield for it..
anyone.....? something i didn't explain??
