Distributor question
I have a '90 CRX Si and my distributor went bad. I recently swapped a y8 head onto my stock block, but have yet to install the vtec or convert to obd1. My question is, rather than buying a new dizzy for now and then ANOTHER dizzy for when I get the vtec in (in about 2-3 weeks) can I still use a y8 dizzy? I was told it wouldn't work, but I'd like to make sure.
If it would work, is there anything I'd have to modify? Would it need different plugs or something?

Sort of same problem. My d16 90 si dizzy went bad. Car is parked right now but I would like to crank it some without paying $170.00 for a new dizzy. I found a thread about wiring a 0bd1 dizzy for 0bd0. Will this work with my stock obd0 ecu and wiring. I can find them in junkyard down the road.
Inside the distributor there is a reluctor wheel pressed onto the shaft that has teeth which get counted by a sensor.
OBD1 and OBD2 share the same teeth count and are compatible.
OBD0 has a different count.
