'03 Si, looking for new wheels
I was looking at the Motegi FF7's... I'm looking for stylish unsprung weight reduction to help my acceleration, and maybe a little in the gas mileage (definitely second to performance)
Does anyone have an exact weight on the stock Si 4 lug rims from '03?
What about the LS webs that the EF guys are all over? Will they fit?
What is offset? Why is it so important? What about tire width, how much different is the handling? Low Profiles, really high performance? Why? What about blowouts? Every car I've seen on the side of the road up here in Washington with a tire issue has low profs? Is it common for them to give up the ghost? Wouldn't a smaller rim with more rubber be light overall, considering rubber is lighter than metal?

tirerack.com can answer most/all of your questions. Do some research before you ask anything else.
If you want lighter wheels, be prepared to $$ pay for it. Cast aluminum (see also: cheap) wheels are heavy but inexpensive, and tend to bend/crack easily.
Forged aluminum wheels are very lightweight, but nearly double the cost.

There is faq thread about wheels and letmegooglesearchthatforu.com. Motegi lists the weight of their wheels on their website!! Also god dammit ******* 4 lug car. I have a set of these in 18's of course for my dc5. I wud have sold these to u super cheap with tires!! U shud do 5 lug conversion and then buy these from me lol!!!
Sounds great, I'll get right on that 5 lug swap. (After I win the lottery)
I already did a google search for the stock weight, no avail.
I found out, through letmegooglesearchthatforu.com that the Motegi's are still 19 lbs a piece.
Tirerack.com obviously does not bring up anything about higher chances of blowouts on low profile tires. I was hoping for more of a personal reference for or against the tires.
Oh and No s&^% sherlock on the lighter wheels being more expensive. Every thing worth getting is worth paying for.

I don't know whether to be super happy about that database or make fun of the guy who built it. It's genius, bordering on insanity!
Hah, this is so true. WTF is with the crane? Its a wheel weight database. He should have just outputted the data onto the page rather than having to export a pdf.
What goes into a five-lug conversion, just a hub swap, knuckle swap, or is it the control arms too?... I looked in the FAQ's already, didn't see it. I know I should search it, but I'm lazy.
