My girl drives a 98 four door honda accord EX. The brake lights on my girls car will not light up when you step on the brakes. the single light inside the car in the back of the back seat lights up when you step on the brakes but the ones in the tailights does not. i have already switched out the brake light switch but it still does not light up. Please let met know if anyone has adad the same problem and how did you fix it.

 

so the third brake light works but the outer 2 dont. have you checked the bulbs to make sure they r good...do they come on when ur head lights r on?

Checked all the bulbs and they they all the bulb and they all look like the little pins are still connected inside the blubs. also they don't look burnt out

 

yes the bulbs do come on when you hit the lights...its only when you brake that the brake lights don't come on but the thrid light is working when you brake.

 

well the rear light bulbs are dual filament one for running lights and on for brake...the bulbs r like 4 bucks might as well change them out. if that doesnt work try cleaning the wiring up a bit but most likely thats not the case for both sides not working

 

how about changing the fuse?

 

If everything else fail, I would use a voltmeter to check if there's voltage coming in with someone on the brake pedal.

all my light work but then if i press the brake my running light stop working
but my brake light signal light reverse light alway work if i turn off my car and turn it on they all work but they stop one i brake anyone has an idea i check the fuse they are all good pst with helpful tip

 

Does your check "brake light" on the dash come on?
