Hi, i was wondering that what is the different betweenb18c vs. b18c5 because my friend he got this engine it just says b18c and they guy that he bought of he said its type r. need help i am kind of lost.

B18C can be either JDM TYPE R or JDM GSR
Yes b18C5 is USDM Type-R

The only way to be sure is to look for stampings on the head. look for a stamp on the head or IM that says "P73"

I thought the JDM motors were just the B18C without the number after the letter C and the USDM motors were the B18C5 with the number after the C.
