Default Exhaust Resonators - Two Better than One?

I have an all motor setup that's been on stock exhaust for the longest time. I just recently went to a full 63.5mm mandrel bent custom exhaust from the header's collector all the way back, with a Vibrant Ultraquiet resonator, and Vibrant flat black muffler. It sounds nice and smooth, and is almost silent when cruising, but it's loud as hell (my comparative opinion vs the stock exhaust) at WOT. My question is, would it quiet down the exhaust even further to add another resonator?

a second resonator might help a little, but the length and composition of the first resonator will make more a difference then adding a second one.

Thanks for the response. I'm currently using the Vibrant Ultraquiet resonator that has a 10" free flowing body.

I'd probably order another one exactly like it if I do decide to add another resonator, I just want to see if it would reduce the sound even more, or if it'd be a waste of money.

Nothing better then 80lbs worth of exhaust.

another resonator won't make it much quieter, just less high pitched. try adding a bullet muffler inline?

So I can add three or four of them?

On a 3100lb daily driver with 200+wtq, I won't notice the difference.

I don't currently have a cat, and I've seen how much of a difference it makes to have one. Would a Carsound high-flow cat like the one in the link below disrupt the flow entirely, and make my whole straight-thru exhaust pointless? Aren't there better options for high-flow cats that would still cut down on the sound?

The sound is perfect while cruising and light load, but freakin wails at WOT.

I would put the high flow cat on and move the resinator back some. This will quite it down alot and not be to bad a restriction.

The resonator is about as far back as there is room for it. I don't have a problem spending ~$70 on a Vibrant or Carsound cat vs another $85 resonator, if it's not going to hinder the flow too much.

Here's the two I'm looking at.

Both are ceramic core. Metal core versions start about $110 from what I've seen.

I say you are fine as is. Expecting a modified car to be "quiet" at WOT is pointless

He isn't expecting it to be quit. Just not super loud.

I know what you're saying, and I understand N/A builds are always loud.

Thankfully the car doesn't have a terribly raspy bumble-bee sound to it, but it does sound a bit nasally around 3k and near redline. I don't expect the car to be "quiet", but I don't want it to be raunchy sounding every time I put my foot in it.

If the car still had the OE cat on it, I KNOW it would sound super smooth and 'flatten out' at higher rpm, but that's not an option since the cat clogged up. I don't mind putting a cat back on it, but I don't want to completely negate the new exhaust work either. That's why I'm here looking for experienced opinions. Does anyone have any recommendations on high-flow cats or experiences + or - with what I've listed?

Its a little more but I would go with the metal core. It will flow more and will last alot longer. The part number would be: VIB7101. Its not a bad price for a spun metal core either.

Thanks. I guess I'll hold off a little longer and pick up a metal core then. Just for giggles, what do you think of this Magnaflow metal-core cat, Just to save a few bucks?

Picked up that Magnaflow spun metal core race cat. Hope this helps tone things down a bit.

Actually, I picked up two of these on accident. lol Anyone want a 2.5" metal core cat for $90 shipped?

Here's the car as it is now. It's not terribly loud sitting still, but you can imagine the volume increases exponentially with rpm under load...

EDIT: I just finished painting, and was sanding on the clear, so no comments about cosmetics please.
