Well i got my J&S UltraSafe Guard Version 2 earlier this week
It's the second one i've hooked up, i hooked up a friends also
Got everything tap'd and spliced, and went to go test the car out, and i ran into a problem.
Every time i rev the car (Only at WOT) at about 5,000RPM the ignition or something gets cut and the car hesitates, and then all of a sudden takes back off. It does it a little bit at 6,000RPM also. Now I have the sensitivity on the J&S Turned ALL THE WAY DOWN, and i know my car is not knocking that badly. Plus the J&S Dual Monitor, is not saying that it's pulling timming.
I unhooked the J&S, and went out for a test drive and the car was fine again.
Does anyone have any idea what the hell this could be that's making my car do this?

bad wiring? the J&S is probably retarding your timing from the stock knock sensor being the crap it is?
edit: read your post more carefully. if its not retarding the timing then i would def check the sensors or your butt dyno isnt accurate

get rid of that pos JS safeguard. that'l solve your prolbem. I had it on my b20/vtec.. which is a naturally loud motor.. and even with the settings turned down all the way (it was with a js safeguard knock sensor), the JS always kicks in.. for no reason.. and it sucks. You think it's all wow.. its doing its job.. but when you race against somebody, and you feel your JS safeguard kicking in.. and the guy you are racing is smoking you because something is holding your engine back.. you will start to get very annoyed.
My JS always kicked in when I shift hard, and just randomly come on cause it feels like it. Honestly.. the JS safeguard cant really stop detonation alltogether, it's just annoying. Just get your car tuned properly so you wont have any worries with detonation, and then junk the JS safeguard. I've had the JS safeguard off for over 1+ yr now.. and not a problem with my motor at all.

I fixed the problem anyway, it had to do with the vacuum line, i didn't need it because i'm not running boost, and because Version 2 doesn't have the selector between NA/FI mode, it kept freaking out when my motor wasn't creating boost etc etc ...
So all fixed and i'm ready to go

no.. my sensitivity was turned down all the way, and i did torque the knock sensor right (20 ft/pds if i believe), and no i'm not detonating.. unless I have been detonating for 1+ yrs now and not burning oil, and still really high compression. In that case, i guess detonation is a good thing
...but you do know that a motor will behave differently in different weather conditions, right? So maybe your motor was really detonating at the time?
From what I have read and heard so far, the only people complained about J&S is the version 0...pulling the timing for no apparant reason. However, there was a defect in version 0, which is corrected in version 1 and beyond.
I have a few friends who are running J&S version 1, and they absolutely loved it.

Actually when a car is knocking it is making it's most amount of power, but that doesn't mean it's a godo thing for your motor ...
anyway
i have a feeling you just didn't know how to setup your J&S
J&S Saves motors and that's a good thing
