synthetic
I would highly suggest running a synthetic. But not just any synthetic. I'm a big fan of Amsoil. The UOA's have come back great. Not a fan of Mobil1. Too thin, burns too much, and questionable "full-synthetic" status.
Get a good filter, too. I like NAPA Gold and Amsoil Ea.

Make sure you do some research regarding synthetic oils before you succumb to brands and pay $8 a quart for oil you know nothing about.
Well, it depends. People assume that going synthetic or staying with dino you can go xxxx miles per change. What you really need to do is get a used oil analysis (UOA) done that tells you how your oil is doing after xxxx miles (also tells you the condition of your engine). For me, I've been able to push about 10k miles and the UOA came back great. I am going to see what the analysis comes back at 12k miles next time. This is on Amsoil w/ their EaO filter.
i would say go with Synthetic ENEOS from NIPPON OIL (5w-30).. i think this is the best oil around.. The only thing is the price too high, but you can use it for more than 7,000 miles. i would think about using royal purple, people says that it gets too sticky after using it more than 5K.
i used mobil 1 synthetic on my first oil change but i'm now going back to regular oil, putting in some castrol gtx tomorrow. i thought about it and decided that the best way to go about doing maintenance on the car is to just follow honda's recommendations. i drove a little past what the olm recommended on the synthetic, but there's no way to tell when to change it without doing an oil analysis. mobil 1 is exactly double the cost of castrol gtx and i don't think it's worth it. as long as i'm keeping up with changing the oil regularly (following the olm) i don't think there's any reason to switch to synthetic on a stock engine.
i hope that you guys arent just switching right into synthetic and back without balancing it first ... if anything your first oil change should be comprised of 1/2 syn and 1/2 reg then the one after should be 100% of either syn or reg depending on which way your going ... never drive full syn one day and 100% reg the next either way ...

that's not true. though i don't think synthetics are worth the money, there are other brands of real synthetics out there. don't let the marketing fool you.
