Default Damn!! Car pulled off road!!!

The damn cops pulled my car off the road! My 95 dx coupe just got deemed unsafe in ontario. The cop had something against hondas cuz he searched my car from head to toe. I dont even have that much done to it. The engine is a zc i got one piece projectors end a mugen lip. The jerk gave me a shopping list of things i hAve to change: my turn signals are white, my tail lights are clear, My exhaust is too loud, my tints are to dark, my car is too low. I mean talk about knit-picking. I have been pulled over before and nothing has ever happened. Im so pissed cuz i see so many rust buckets on the road burnin oil and i lose my car. Uhhhhhgggggg... Now i have to get it to pass safety test. Now what do you think i should do? New car or start from scratch and bring back my coupe?

Well i would change back to original stock turn signs, tail lights, exhaust, remove tint.Overall anything that the cops think is illegal because you will only run into the same problem in the future.

quit complaining. you did that to your car, you pay for the consequences of modifying it with improper equipment.

In Southern Ontario, cops are complete douchebags. I got followed the other day for 15 minutes all the way to my friends house. He didn't pull into the driveway, but when I left his house 10 minutes later, the same cop was waiting for me one street down. He was somewhat hidden from view and his lights were off. If I was alone, I would have been pulled over (since there are no witnesses to verify I did nothing wrong, and the cop would have made something up like i was swerving in my lane) but I had two friends with me so he was waiting for me to do something wrong (like roll a stop sign, or touch a line on the road with a tire). When you drive a Civic over here, you need to get used to attention from cops. They want to verify that you aren't a punk, ricer kid who is up to no good. And guess what he sees when he looks at your list of problems?

Here are some areas of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act that you need to educate yourself on, with their set fines:

WINDOW TINTS
There is no restriction on window tint or colouring on rear windows as long as there are side mirrors providing a clear view to the rear. A driver must have a clear view out of the front windows and the windshield and a police officer must have a clear view in.

HTA 73(1)(a) – Window obstructed / Windshield obstructed - $85.00/$110.00
Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8

HTA 73(3) – Colour coating obscuring interior - $85.00/$110.00
Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8

EXHAUST
All cars, trucks and motorcycles need to be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke. Use of a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, Hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device is prohibited.

HTA 75(1) – No muffler - Motor Vehicle / Improper muffler - Motor Vehicle – $85.00/$110.00

HTA 74(4) – Unreasonable smoke / Unnecessary Noise - $85.00/$110.00
Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8

LOWERING VEHICLE
No part of the tires may come into contact with the vehicle, no part of the vehicle can touch the ground and the front wheels cannot be visibly out of alignment.

HTA 70(3)(a) – Improper tires - $85.00/$110.00
Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8

HTA O.Reg 625 Section 5(b) – Reference Section for HTA 70(3)(a)
Highway Traffic Act - R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 625

HTA O.Reg 611 Schedule 1 Section 3(5) – Reference Section for HTA 84 – Operate unsafe vehicle – No Set Fine, Maximum $20,000.00 fine.
Highway Traffic Act - R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 611

Well considering the recession, it will be hard to sell a vehicle right now (especially one that won't pass safety). You may as well fix your problems.

If OPP got you, you must have been on the highway, right? Did you commit a traffic violation or did they just pull you over because of your lights?

Well, if you are going to move on for that reason, don't buy another Civic. It will just keep happening. I get pulled over a couple times a month...most of the time they just want to ask me questions and verify my papers. But since they need to have a reason to pull you over, they make up some funny excuses But in your case they actually have a reason. I think you should fix your car so they have no reason to pull you over, that way you can hear some funny excuses, too, when they do flip the cherries.

Or you can buy a minivan and never get hassled again!

i do not believe you truly know what "bad cops" are. i would wager CA police are a lot worse. and NOW given the economy, most of these cops have mortgages they have to pay and cheep whorish-wives to pamper.

I heard it said once from Paul Harvey old radio commentator.

If you want to see the scum of the earth. circle a police station at shift change.

I say that is 99% correct. There are 1 good for every 99 slack ***
