Default How do I find the year of the motor?

I bought my engine from a guy who "bought" it from a junk yard but decided not to use it. Or thats what he tells me. So anyways he didn't know what year gsr it came out of. All I have is the engine code B18c1 and the serial number underneath which is 1312685. Can anyone tell me the year or tell me how to figure out what it is?

on the head of the engine there would be stamps that represent the date by year ei: 9/5 would be 1995 or 1996 from the car it came out, usually engines are made before the car is. all of this is located on top where the exhaust manifold goes.
