Welcome to h-t!

Why do you think it is hydrolocked? What are the symptoms?

what car do you have? what engine? if you have enough cash in hand go with a bseries swap like a b16 or a b18. they are both common swaps. i myself just went from a d16z6 to a b18c1 and oh boy what a difference! regarding your problem is it turning over when you crank?

If water got into your exhaust, it wouldn't hydrolock your engine.

Ah, gotcha. I was thinking he meant the header.

Do you have a cold-air intake? You probably threw a rod through the block

Well, more power is in your future...

8,000 can get you a lot of different set ups, you could go with a built and boosted b18b ls, k series, sleeved and turbo'd d series, all motor b16/b18c b series, just do your research.

B series, and D series swaps are real basic and easy to do, k series require some fabrication, and different adapters, mounts, etc. there also a lot more expensive to do, most people tell me its worth the effort though.

To be honest man, if you have that much money, you could actually upgrade yo a newer car.

If you love your Civic that much, you could put a decent B16 or B18 in there.
Those are the most common swaps and are pretty easy. You should have that done with less than $2k.

K series are a bit pricey but the outcome are much greater. Specially if you spect to go with highet HP.

So you have lots of options man. Choose what YOU actually want.

I would swap it with a GSR and just do some bolt ons. You will be happy with it :-)

dont leave out the H22 option.....its a little more work for the swap, but sh*t a K series isnt going to be easy anyway....w/ an h22, you'll be burning people as is, you can pick up one for cheap and with the leftover money, you could definitley build it or just upgrade the head with the necessities and you'll really be roasting everyone...I personally love the H22
