White Wheel Guys - Take Care
Wheter you paint them yourself or not. Please tell me what it is like to take care of them.
No different from any other painted wheel? PITA?
Tell me the real deal. Would you do it again?
TIA

do it as long as you dont mind cleaning. when i had white wheels, i just wiped them daily, but put some kind of polish/wax on them. white wheels FTMFW
yes, i loved them as well. look great on the car but only when clean. i found myself cleaning them at least once a week. even when i was too lazy to wash the car, i would still keep my white wheels clean. i was always scared of the finish getting stained.

I miss my white wheels they looked good on my car but they were a pain to keep clean but they were worth it to. I traded my white wheels for my sisters Gsr blades.
Maybe I should paint the Gsr blades white???????

It's definitely different from wheels of other colors, because white shows dirt (primarily brake dust) so clearly. You'll be cleaning them all the time if you want them to look halfway decent. You don't have to do that with other colors. (Metallic gray is especially good at hiding brake dust.)
yea, def. a PITA to keep clean, what makes it all the worse for me is that i have way too many spokes AND the spokes make it difficult for me to reach further in the lip, but i think its well worth it.

Wheel experts. From your experience, would you say it's not a good idea to paint a wheel if you can not remove the tires?
I read some threads that show how it's possible with lots of tape, baseball cards, etc, etc. Yes, it works, but it is a good idea?
Or no real difference?

I got it masked around the lip w/index cards, but it was a set of shitty tires.
If I had to do it again I'd prep better & have tires taken off so I can get everything. I wash mine every week or else they turn yellow/gray

I have white wheels aslo and they are a pain in the a** to maintain. mostly the break dust that gives me hell. I have standard duralst brake pads from Auto Zone, do you guys think if i get the "better" more expensive brake pads I will not have as much brake dust on my wheels?
If you're really looking for reduced brake dust, the best bet for a lot of cars is often the stock brake pads. Certain aftermarket brake pads (e.g. Hawk Performance Ceramic) claim ultra-low levels of dust, so those might be another option to try.
i got the buddy club white sf p1's and they are a pain. ive seen wheels in my time and out of all the wheels white wheels imo look the best when clean. even some of the offset wheels with a white lip look good imo when kept clean.
i guess it depends on weather and where you live to, ie country roads, woods, wet areas etc. if you paint them white paint them bright white. my friend didnt get the whitest white and now his wheels look yellow
I agree, white wheels are excellent looking (on certain cars), but require a lot of maintenance if you want to keep them that way. After you get the majority of the brake dust off the wheels try using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to really get them looking good. And as stated earlier, use a wax to protect them if you're not going to clean them at least every other day. You don't want discoloration.
