Maybe we should post a sticky at the top of this forum: Hondas made before 1988 are VERY different from subsequent Hondas.

It is realtively easy to make a lot more power in old Hondas. It involves better breathing through the head.

No Problem: Get the most air and fuel in the correct ratio (about 14.1:1) into your cylinders, ignite it at just the right moment, and then evacuate the exhaust.

The D15A3 (also known as the EW4) has a tiny throttlebody and a restrictive intake manifold. Anythng you can do to inprove the induction side of the head will make a lot more power. A larger throttlebody, a more agressive cam and simple P&P works wonders on that engine.

Go to www.redpepperracing.com for the best site devoted to the 1st Gen CRX and its Civic cousin.
