heres the problem about my radio. the deck face doesnt turn on and it dontt play anything but my cd goes in and when i push eject it comes back out....so i thought it was dead but tryed it in a friends hatch too and it works just fine...all fuses are good no blowens but im guessing it might be something with the harness....cause it died when i down shift to third and i sort of slipped an punched it then it jus died but like i say it still works in my friends car so any help its getting very anoying with no music.....

 

Have you done any work in the dash recently?

I doubt punching it had anything to do with it if its working in another vehicle. It also can't be the fuse if it's ejecting the disc. With that in mind, I would first look at the harness in the dash, as well as check for loose/disconnected grounds.

 

and make sure ur illumination wire is pluged in right. u can have power and everything but wont have screen without it. but from it not playing at all i agree that its most like ly the ground/negative.

 

so is the ground the wires on the deck wire harnesss....and my dash was a swap to a teggy dashy in a eg hatch

 

yes its on ur radio harness. if its a virgin harness itll most likely have a horse shoe end or something similar to bolt under a screw in ur frame. if its a used harness its most likely cut off and its just the black wire because ppl just connect it to the ground/negative thats in the factory stereo harness in ur car.
