Engine smoking/horrible smell.
So I have noticed that my engine has started smoking and a very bad smell is coming from it. I called a local shop and they told me the only way to fix it was to send it off to get resleeved or to just buy a new motor. I have a 97 Base with 160k on it. Any advice or help?
The smoke seems to be coming from the head or right around the motor. I really cant tell what color it is, it isnt very thick. All i know is it smells very bad.
I dont have to drive it very long or hard for it to start smoking and smelling bad.
Thanks.

The "bad smell" that you keep referring too is oil buring on your exhaust. You have to determine where the oil is coming from. If you cant do that, this forum will be no help. If the smell is that strong, then there should be visable oil on and around the area its coming from. Clean off all the oil that you can see and start your car. Then, watch to see if u can determine where the leak is.
