Sway bar tearing frame?
I have a civic 00 sedan and it doesn't come with stock swaybars(i'm sure you guys know that), what size of a sway bar should i be getting, 22mm or 24mm, and whats the difference. Also what size of a sway bar will actually tear my frame without a brace/and with it?
thanks!
thanks!
1. The 2000 EX and LX sedans DO have a front swaybar - it is 22MM
2. I know for a fact you can purchase an Si rear bar and mount it easily on an EX or LX without replacing the lower control arms (like you would have to do for the front).
3. What do you mean tearing the mounting bracket out of the frame? I have only heard of that happening when a larger then stock bar was installed on a lowered car.
The Si rear sway bar is 13MM
Here are the parts you need

#27 is 52300-S52-A01 SPRING, RR. STABILIZER (13MM) $67.97
#30 is 52317-S04-000 BRACKET, RR. STABILIZER $9.67 --- (2 req'd)
#28 is 52308-S04-000 HOLDER, RR. STABILIZER $4.14 --- (2 req'd)
#29 is 52315-S52-A00 BUSH, RR. STABILIZER (13MM) $3.42 --- (2 req'd)
#35 is 93403-08020-08 BOLT-WASHER (8X20) $0.16 --- (4 req'd)
#36 is 95701-08018-08 BOLT, FLANGE (8X18) $0.62 ---(4 req'd)
#34 is 90212-SA5-003 NUT, SELF-LOCK (10MM) $0.36 --- (2 req'd)
#33 is 90002-S10-000 NUT, FLANGE (10MM) $1.85 --- (2 req'd)
#31 is 52320-S04-003 LINK ASSY., R. RR. STABILIZER $49.49
#32 is 52321-S04-003 LINK ASSY., L. RR. STABILIZER $45.74
Installing the rear bar will GREATLY IMPROVE handling
If you were talking about doing an Si front swaybar (which is 26MM) you will have to purchase the Si frt lower control arms, the Si frt bar, the brackets, the bushings, and the Si endlinks.
The front bar you have now is 22MM so IMHO I would just buy/install the Si rear swaybar, and maybe purchase polyurethane bushings for your front bar (22MM).

First poster, and very helpful THANKS.
So that means that the rear only uses 13 mm? and not 24mm/22mm??
Because i was planning to get the full rear ASR sway bar+brace kit but those come in 24/22, unless i'm lookin in the wrong area.

I reason I recommend that you get the Si 13MM bar instead of the ASR one is because it will greatly improve your handling, and will be much cheaper then doing the ASR kit. And that the ASR kit probably will tear loose from the rear subframe eventually.
Ah ic, the price isn't the probably for my sway bars i just want whats best for my cornering =]
But yea, i heard getting the whole asr sway bar+brace kit is the best, but will it really tear eventually??
Anymore suggestions please??
