Default Spoon thermostat in a s2k

We have put a Spoon thermostat in my Dad's s2000. We were trying to lower the temperatures with the new head we put on. Now the check engine light is on and it is a PO128 code, below threshold. If anyone has had this as a problem how did you solve it or is this just what it does.

Its probably stuck open. You should be able to take the cap off the radiator with the engine cold, start the car and then look at the coolant. If you see it moving around alot, the 'stat's probably stuck open. If it's not moving then, it's not stuck open.

for some reason I recall hearing about issues with the Spoon thermostat if not using a Spoon ECU. I know it is the lowest operating temp of all aftermarket thermostats for the S2000.

I went w/ the Mugen thermostat, thermo switch and radiator cap.

Also, something else to think about is that you really should be mating up a radiator cap and thermo switch that work with that thermostat (preferable Spoon ones if that is what you are sticking with)

When we got the head built javier at jg said that a lower thermostat would be a good idea. So he listened to him and got one.

If your targeting the lower temperatures then disregard the CEL

I also have the Spoon thermo and fan switch. I've never had a problem, the only thing I might check make sure it was not installed upside down. I know that sounds crazy but I have seen people do it...
