My fathers 89 civic will start but it takes forever. It turns over like there's no fire but then starts to hit. Eventually it will start. Runs ok but if I turn it off it won't start again for a while if even till the next day. Gots fuel, spark, good battery, plug wires not arcing. I'm lost here. any and all help is desparately needed and appreciated.

 

Either need a new starter or main relay.

 

The starter is fine. turns over like a champ. Its just hard to get started.

I really need this thing fixed. He's using my van that I work out of so I need my van back!
