i was cruising on the freeway the other day and i had my car into 5th and the car popped outta gear and i tried to put it back in and it didnt go in. i took the next exit and tried putting it in first at the stop light and it wouldnt go in. everytime i try to put it into those gears it seems as if i was shifting into no gear at all. i dont have 1,3,5 gears anymore. all i have is 2,4, and reverse now. i have an h22 in my eg civic with a h23 tranny. anyone had this same problem? i checked the shift linkage and everything else seems to be fine, what could it be?

 

were your gears grinding before? ever had problems with the gear popping out previously? transmissions arent the type of part to work fine one day and cant get it into gear the next.

sounds like it could be your synchro sets?, but they come in pairs, so 1-2,3-4,5-R. its all along the top half of your gearbox. 1,3,5 along the top, and 2,4,R along bottom. all fluids and linkage are correct levels and in tact?

 

i just put this h23 tranny onto my h22 a week and a half ago, i checked the tranny fluid and is good. no problems with the tranny before this happened. any other suggestions?
