i was wondering what my safe limits where when it came to power and boost
b18c1, stock bore, 9:1 comp. wiseco pistons, eagle Hbeams, no sleeves, 1000cc injectors, stg 1 turbo crane cams, ram horn, external oil evap catch can, turbnetics t61 turbo, just down pipe, msd 6digital, p28 with crome, gsr tanny................how much power can i get while being safe on the sleeves and how many pounds of boost? tanx!

 

Take it to a reliable tuner and find out. They'll tune the car to where they feel it's safe, and they'll let you know what it's boosted to.

 

i dont have a tuner around here. does anyone have an answer

 

It all depends on your set up man, You really need to find the closet tuner to you and throw it up on the dyno if you don't want anything to go wrong with your car. It's only like 150 an hour.. well in ohio it is anyways.

lol rage more, its hard for ppl to tell u a good safe limit, the tuner is about the only guy who can.

 

i would maybe say for a good push 10 is a good number its not much higher then stock range i know that we had a t25 on a sr20det (nissan) we safely ad it run 10 pounds then when we wanted to have fun we had a second setting that was doubling psi to 20 pounds of boost we only did that in a "legal" area ie a parking lot a very big one at that when we wanted to put the car out sideways... i wouldnt run more then 10 but i could assume that UR UNTUNED COULD POSSIBLELY and i state POSSBILE run smooth at 15 i WOUNDNT DO IT CONSTENTLY UNTIL YOU HAVE IT TUNED.... Find a tune shop and drive there it might be a long ride but it will pay off in the end....

 

yup u can put all the parts in the world but it doesnt mean anything if u dont get tuned. if u run too much boost without tuning u can blow all that money u just invested. and please dont say u have a base map.. its called a "base" map for a reason, theyre not specific to ur car.

 

All the parts you have don't mean squat if you don't have your fuel and ignition properly managed. Even your chipped ecu is basically worthless if you don't have it tuned. Get mad all you want, but all the responses in this thread are realistic. Any thread you've ever seen where someone asked how much boost they can run, and someone actually responded with a number, that number was a complete GUESS (that is a FACT). There's no possible way anyone could give you an actual number. I'm sure you could probably crank up the boost pretty high with your setup, but only if you get it properly tuned. If you don't get it tuned, you might be able to boost it 7 or 8 psi and blow your engine up. So either find a tuner, or learn how to tune it yourself; and start with low boost then work your way up (after a huge amount of research).
