Default bolt inside a combustion chamber

the guy that did my head left a bolt in the combustion chamber said that i will only need a new valves but i am afraid my combustion chamber got mess up

yet another reason nobody but me works on my car, yeah you won't know until you open it up i would think that could do some serious damage... depending on how long it runs... that mechanic better be payin you

If the motor was run this way, most likely the piston top and valves are scored/damaged in the affected cylinder.

Could have also damaged the head and cylinder walls

Not to mention the spark plug

valves might be bent, and like TheJGB3 said, the pistons are probably scored.

well, aside from all that, its possible there is a whole in your piston. Ether way, take it back there, and have it tear it down, once its torn down, look and see whats messed up, just in case they try to lie about something. Alternatively, make them pay for it to be done somewhere else, but that might be hard to do.

It's going to be cheaper to just swap in another engine than fix that right. Figure overboring the cylinder, new rings, pistons, probably a head...
What engine do you have?
