2003 CRV Radio
Hello
I'm having a problem with the radio in my 2003 CRV EXL.
It has a 6 disc in dash cd changer, when you click on the CD it just clicks a couple times and then says error on the screen. It does this on any of the 6 discs selected and also when I try to eject any of the CDs. The radio works fine.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your help.

The cd player has gone on to a better life. You can spend a few hundred bucks and have it rebuilt by Honda or you can get one off of ebay for an OK price too. Were you using any burned cds with sticky labels?
The radio does have some burnt cds in it but they do not have any labels on them. Do you know if I take the radio out and try to fix it, if I will need a code to get it working again? Thats the case with my 02 civic. I'm thinking maybe there is something stuck in it, but I don't want to try and fix it and end up with nothing.
If you take it out and let your local Honda parts dept ship it off they will fix it and ship it back to you with your cd's in a protective case and a radio code card.
Cost is about $200-300 and it comes with a 90 day warranty.

Ok so I couldn't let this go any longer tonight. I took the radio out, took all the sides off the radio casing and looked in side.
Note: this is my wifes car so I did not know all the history but now that I had it opened the truth came out. She had two burnt cds with paper labals that were getting stuck. Ross 2.0 you called this one.
I did not want to take apart the radio/cd player itself as there are several springs and pulleys that would explode everywhere if I did. So I carefully cut the cds out of the CD player.
I reassembled the outer casing and then reinstalled the unit into the CRV. Entered the code and......still only the radio works.
When I push the load or CD or eject button nothing happens. When I try to insert a CD it seams like there is something in the at the front of the unit blocking it
Does anyone have any ideas??? please help, this is driving me to drink.....

With a 6 disc changer there is a plate that comes down to block the opening to prevent people from shoving cds in without hitting the "Load" button.
When you plugged the audio unit back in did you hear the cd changer cycling through (making whirring and clicking noises)?

On the first try, I attemped to line up all the cds. When I plugged the unit back in it did make a noise. After that did not work I took it back out and then removed the CDs and then reinstalled the radio and then it did not make the noise. When you look at the unit there is two parts, the lower portion is the radio and tape. The upper is the 6 pack cd player. It seams like the cd player is not getting power. On the back on the lower portion where the wiring plugs in. There is a solid removable metal plate with several screws, some screws are short and others longer. Do you think this plate and screws has anything to do with how it gets the power?
I took the top of the casing off, and this exposed the cds. I carefully cut the cds piece by piece and removed them. I looked inside and I did not damage anything taking them out (I think). Do I need to reset something to get it working? The player does not show any cds on the screen, as it should not as there is not any.
I'm in the same Boat as you are luckly though it's not my WIFE'S car. It's my CRV that I let my 15 yr old son use for school. He got one of MY CD's stuck in the player (good thing he only had the one in there and not the full 6) I too was able to get it out through the top of the unit but with out cutting it into pieces. now the unit will not allow me to put in another CD due to I don't have the code it's asking for. We bought the CRV used and every place they said to look for the code came up empty. I'm at a loss where did you find your code?
