Default stiffer valve springs causes hard turning cams?

ok guys im in the middle of putting my timing belt back on and when i go to turn the camshafts its really hard to turn and my belt keeps slipping note this is a manual tenisioner converted h22 also. can it be the stiffer valve springs causing this ?

It helps to have two people if you cant get the belt on yourself while holding the gears in time. I wouldnt think the tensioner would be at fault unless you have it tightened before you are trying to put the belt on the cam gears.

Stiffer springs will increase the camshaft rotation "drag"
It makes sense that you also have bigger cams..........higher lift - bigger lobes will also increase drag......

another thing to look into would be the lost motion assemblies......sometimes they bind if too high a lift cam is used..

And just so everyone knows: cams and springs is a no-no on auto tensioner!

how hard is it to turn ? Tough or very hard ? Was everything prelubed before installation ? Were the cam caps torqued in the correct procedure and to spec ?

cam caps are torque to specs and i had assemblie lube on there also cams at stock specs besides i have supertech valvetraind and valves and also i have manual tensioner conversion but tonight ill try it again its hard but at first i had the timing belt on and it was spinning decently but he till i had to redo the belt becuase i forgot the plastic backing cover then it it got hard to spin like the belt kept sliping tooth on the intake side any other suggestion or trick please let me know and yes all the bolt and cam caps where done to specs

There is surely something wrong if with the T-belt is properly tensioned and it still skips teeth on the cam gear........

Take the T-belt off, position all pistons halfway through the bores, position exh. cam halfway as best as possible (no valves at max lift) and try to rotate the intake cam with a spanner......youll find out on which rocker it binds.....I suspect a fualty LMA there......or coil bind, dumb question, but did you put the specific exh springs on the exh. side???

or the cam is warped........never heard of that but guess it can happen
