Default Newbies~ How to replace a timeing belt on a 96?

Guys~ i own a 96 civic EX for about half a year and it's my first car. It has 15k now. Recently i start to hear some strange noise when i accerate. It sounds like it's from the belt. I assume ever 8k the belt should be replace( that's what i heard). so i wanna replace it see if that would solve the problem.

As i Newbie i learnt from nothing to knowing the basic, like changing oil, brake pad/ rotor, changing headlights.

All this might seems kindergarden grade to you

So, now i wanna step up and learn more about the engine.

Please give me some help ~!

Thanks !

Never head of a timing belt needing to be replaces every 8k....Start with your ps, a/c, and alt belt. Make sure they are not cracked and that they are tight...but not TOO tight cause that will make noise too.
