How can I disable the seat belt beeper on a Fit
On another site, I found a Honda tech way of disarming the beeper on an Element. How similar are the basic wirings for various 08 Hondas? Any one know? Thanks.
Well, Kroze, thanks for the quippy note, but not everyone lives as you do. I live in a very rural area, driving vast distances on dirt roads, hours without seeing a car. I stop frequently to check out the countryside, something probably lost on you. My question was legitimate. I'm my own boss, and I like that. Don't mean to be disrespectful here.
lol
Here you go sir.
all i did was use a simple speaker wire. 2.5in long spliced the ends and twisted it jammed it into the seat belt sensor and BAM! it tells the car that the seat belt is in even though its not! the air bag still works to easy and simple mod! just make sure you hide so you dont kick it or knock the wire out...since i got racing harnesses, i was sitting and looking at it for a good 3 hrs straight thinking of a way to fix the noise without cutting it or having my seat belt always in. 3 beers later and 2 blown fuses! heres the results!

car on but seat belt is not buckled.

have fun!

Just buckle up.
Like you said, you live in a rural area with wild animals like deer most likely. You really want to risk it just because you think it wont happen to you? Manny a horror story starts with the phrase "I just never thought it would happen to me". Dont mean to be disrespectful or anything, but I hate to see people get hurt over such trivial matters as a seat belt being uncomfortable.

hmm, this is an interesting concept.
i like that willitfit used it because he has a racing harness though.
it's really not that hard to wear your seatbelt though...

i do have harness's. it would be dumb to run my bucket seat with stock seat belts because that would not be safe since the sides sit up high and the stock seat belt wouldnt even touch my lap
Thanks for taking my question seriously, without the moralizing. If we ever meet, we could drive the back country, drink a beer and watch the coyotes- all without a seat belt to remind us that the world has been overpopulated and therefore we all need protection. Yes, I do use my seat belt 100% of the time when I'm on the highway. But there are other venues in some people's lives. Now, after your splendid pictures and explanation, I just have figure out how to get the seat belt connection free from its clip so that I can work with it. I'm calling my dealer tomorrow. My inclination is to grab the sucker and force it, which means, that I probably break it. But, as I've already made clear, I'm a bit of a Neandrathal mechanically. Best wishes, Richard

Rofls...its really easy to take out, get a flashlight and look under your seat. you'll find a small 3-wire plug, and at the end of that plug you'll find a small pin, you push that pin down while pulling it out. very simple.
Thanks. There are three plugs side by side, but from your picture, I'm betting it's the blue middle one. When the snow and rain ease up, I'll tackle it. Thanks again.
I always tell people to buy a clip from a salvage yard and plug it into the buckle. No modification is needed. One's safety is their choice.
