Icon2 97 DX stuck in 5th gear.

My guess is the throw out bearing typically a failed one would do this. When I bought it it had that bad bearing noise and finally something gave out and its stuck in 5th gear. When running and still you can pull it out its locked. When ignition off I gave it some pumps and still locked.

I ordered a clutch and flywheel kit comes with the bearings. You guys think it could just be the throw out bearing?

Also I can feel the linkage just locked in place hardcore. I even yanked the shiznit out of it once to no avail.

it might be ur tranny... its possible that ur input shaft bearing is bad... mines been making noise since i bought it in dec. now my tranny is sometimes hard to go into gear and its popping out of 3rd and 4th. i think my tranny is about to implode i already have another tranny, just waiting for my clutch and 8lb flywheel to get here.

Yeah that was my guess. But I never had a single grind and the gears went in every time with no effort. Drove like butter. Thats why my assumption is the TOB.

Also my clutch master cylinder is all straight. Never been replaced like anything else on the car haha. Fluid level is perfect too.

yeah man that is classic bad synchronizers, which prly means you ruined one of your forks as well, you could prly have rebuilt that your self for pretty cheap since your gears are probly fine

D transmissions are pretty easy. And if your on the quest for power in the future (I'm not this is my daily) I think Gear Speed has some d setups?
