Default Oil capacity

I did a search and didn’t find anything; how much oil are we suppose to run in our H2B’s? I know the Mfg req. but mine reads like a quart over full at 3.5 quarts (due to how the engine sites). Thanks for the help!

Sorry if this has been discussed already : /

Your right it doesn’t change the capacity, but since the engine sits slightly forward and the dip stick does not read accurately, I am not sure if I would damage anything with it sitting like that with the dip stick reading way over..? : /

It wont damage anything but you might want to put a oil drain bolt in the front of the pan instead of the back. the oil wont drain completely otherwise.

Mark the dipstick at full and that will be your new fill line...

i add a extra 1-2 quarts over. but the best thing is a oil pressure gauge i remember when i changed my oil the first time. i got a lot of the oil out by jacking up the front of the car. anyways i filled it back up and i reached my "new" oil file line. but when i ran the car for a test drive oil pressure would drop in vtec. scary. went and got a few more quarts till it was a little over the full line and it was fine after that.

Basically.

Another thing is if you just got the motor back together after a KS BS install then you know there is no oil in your motor so you can add the oil to the line, and then add the extra oil to develop a new line and know exactly how much was in there. Because you won't be able to get all the oil out on future oil changes unless you get a vacuum pump or figure something else out.
