ok so i picked up this 90 crx dx for a parts car. it drives, but has a blown head gasket and a crap ton of body damage. any ways here's some info on the tranny. It shifts fine into all gears but first. doesn't pop out, doesn't make any noise in any gear, seems like a good tranny w a CRAZY too short short shifter.
here's the issue I'm having. i can shift from any gear and go over to reverse and the stop thingy doesn't work. HOWEVER it's insanely hard to get the tranny to go into first above about 15mph. kind of like it was rebuilt wrong? once i get it puled from the vehicle i will tear it down and check it out but in the mean time what do you guys think? i know the throwout bearing is bad, but other than that it seems good.

so if you put it in 5th then come straight back it goes straight into reverse, and mine were always kinda hard to go into 1st while moving but once your stopped completely it will still not go in?

 

yeah sounds like mine. if it's normal then i'm not worried about it. now that i think about it it'll probably be much easyer to put into first w a normal shifter (i sware this thing is an inch tall). as far as the fifth to reverse thing i'm pretty sure it can do that, i only did that once on test drive and it kind of made a grinding noise when i tried to put it in reverse
