Hey guys I have a problem... after much searching for faqs and other posts I have not found an answer so I have to post. Believe me its not for a lack of trying. I have an 89 civic dx hatchback. The rear wiper doesn't work. It sprays window washer fluid but no movement. Me and a friend were looking for a fuse to see if its the problem but no luck. Is it the motor for the wiper or something else? I have encountered some condensation on the rear hatch so I think it also may just be a short or something. So thanks for any help guys. You all are truly awesome for the help you have given me so far.

If the motor runs fine you should be able to check for power (check for voltage) at the end of the plug coming from the hatch harness. Don't forget that the car ignition needs to be on and so does the rear wiper switch for this test. You will have to figure out between which pins to test (either black and green or black and black/green). If current is sent through the harness you will get the readout of something close to 12V. I will be messing with mine today so I will confirm the wires and voltages later but this will get you started. Good luck.

You may also want to check for continuity between leads on the motor side and corresponding leads on the inside plug. Plug is attached near right taillight and it has 6 wires going to it. I just checked mine and one was completely cut, second on its last leg. The weak spot for those wires (and I compared both harnesses I am working with) is by the right hatch hinge, either enclosed in rubber seal/hose or where it rubs the metal during the opening.
