Rear drum assistance is needed inside!
I got a winter beater and the ebrake only works on one side. (ps, this car was insanely dangerous when i purchased it, ie axle nuts loose, MC loose, missing lug nuts and the ones that were there are M12x1.25,etc)
i went to adjust the ebrake cable and i noticed it was on a severe angle. the tighter line goes to the drum that works. the slack side seems to get tight (with the ebrake hiked up), but provides little to no resistance at the wheel.
i took a look into the drum last night and the ebrake cable is hooked up. the shoes seem to be fairly beefy.
what can i do to adjust the LH drum (isnt it supposed to self adjust?? lol)? perhaps the cable is stretched? i would love to get another cable but this is a winter beater and the costs are piling up.
the plan for today is to open the bleeder screw and see if i can bleed the cylinder.
would a pooched cylinder cause the ebrake to not work? the rear rh is great.
any tips or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I had to do the same thing on my old crx when i first got it. There is an adjuster on the back of the drum i believe near the 12-1 o'clock position. I used a flat head to adjust it, but i can't remember if it needs to be turned clockwise or counter clockwise. Hope that helps.
there is an adjustment (I think) when you take off the ebrake cover inside the vehicle?
I know you can loosen that nut and adjust there.
the other thing mentioned was discussed in the simple brake question thread from yesterday or the day before -
if you can adjust through that little hole in the back of the drum, more power to ya
otherwise pop the drum off adjust pop it back on. if you adjust it out TOO much you can't get the drum back on. this is where the hole in the back comes in handy. but if you study the mechanism with the drum off and learn how it works, you will have an easier time using the hole in the back of the drum.
good luck

i mentioned the adjuster inside the cabin, and how mine is crooked. thats why i decided to investigate further then realized the brake wasnt grabbing. (also noticed just the rear right dipping when i applied the ebrake while moving.)
thanks for the pointers tho guy. buddy. friend.
