Question on Type-R Fog Light switch

Default Question on Type-R Fog Light switch

Basically I have a jdm type-r fog light switch and it stopped working on me one day but the led light still works on it and I was told I need a relay on it somewhere and the switch burned up cause i didnt have one is that true if so what type of relay do I need and where does it go. If any one has had this problem or knows anything about it please let me know, thankyou.

Running your fogs without a relay is a bad idea. Do it right and you won't have this problem. Here is my write up so you can fix your problem.

I don't know how many amps the switch can handle but I'm sure it is a lot less than the relay. By not using a relay you are running the power through the switch instead of the 30 amp relay which is not a good idea.

My brother used to burn out switches ALL the time from the 50W driving lamps we mounted on his Ford Ranger. Finally we wised up and wired up a relay and it never burned out another switch again.
