Default new guy

I just got a 1990 accord lx for free and dont know much about hondas. I was wondering how you tell what type of engine it has in it?

you'll most likely have a F22A1 if it's still the stock 2.2L SOHC non-VTEC engine. but to double check, look on the from of the block where the block and tranny housing mate near the front motor mount. You will see a flat area that angled up, that has the engine code and serial number stamped into it. it may be dirty and need to be wiped or cleaned to read it.

thanks, it is the stock motor so you are probabially right. I was also wondering how much work it is to swap the tranny out for a manual?
